In my many adventures in California surfing was one of my all time favorites. As someone who has always been an adrenaline junkie surfing has always had an appeal to me and been on my bucket list. I used to have any reservations and fears about the ocean from seeing all the shark and survival movies. But being that I had a summer of confidence, fearlessness, and saying yes it seemed like the perfect thing to do. I found the company Malibu longboards and set up a time for my 2 friends and me to go surfing while we were spending a weekend in L.

A. Matt who was our surf instructor really made us all feel comfortable and safe. We were able to spend two hours out in the ocean and I loved every minute of it! Surfing was so difficult and as someone who is super competitive with her self I had one goal and that was to be able to stand up on the board at least once and ride a wave. This goal was very happily completed and I was able to stand up and keep my balance multiple time and road a couple of waves! granted I defiantly wiped out far more than I succeeded but it was such a rush and I adored looking like an idiot and having fun every single second of it!

It is so crazy to me that I used to be so timid and scared of so many things like the ocean or heights. But now going through all my experiences I've had I realize that while danger is very real fear is something that is not necessary. I think fear makes us human but letting fear hold us back or control us is just not a necessary thing. Being able to challenge yourself and never let yourself get comfortable or set in your ways opens up so much joy and possibility in life. I think the best thing I could've done for myself was decide I was going to push myself everyday to go out of my comfort zone and to push myself to develop into a confident and caring women. Once I let go of my fear holding me back and my insecurities life just got so much more beautiful and amazing and I was able to open myself up more to attracting the positive energy I was putting out and that has blessed me with so many amazing people I have met in all areas from all walks of life and so many amazing experiences. I think everyone would benefit from pushing themselves outside their comfort zones and trying new things because you never know where it'll bring you!
