My 2019 has been an incredible journey with exploring new hidden wonders in California every weekend all while taking part in a 10 week NASA internship at the Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley California. I have been spending my weeks in a lab doing Radio-catalytic nanoparticle research and have been working along side some incredible scientists that have shown me so many more opportunities in the sciences. Because my project directly relates to NASA's Artemis mission with moon to mars I was selected out of 800 interns to be the featured intern for NASA's Silicon Valley's live show. Obviously I cried my eyes out at this incredible opportunity than got super anxious and terrified I was going to mess up and sound like a dumb blonde during this live show. But this has been my summer of saying yes so I took the opportunity and it was one of the best things I could have done. I had a photoshoot in my lab for national intern day, was featured on NASA's instagram, and got to sit down with incredible people for my live show and talk about my amazing research and experience i've had at the Ames center. During the live show they asked me advice for

others to follow so they could be where I am, which absolutely terrified me, and I gave a very off guard answer that I have been thinking a lot about during my time at NASA. I talked about being genioune and passionate and don't be afraid to apply and to go for things even if it may not be directly in what you want to do or be something you ever thought was possible. I think this is the best advice I could ever give anyone in any field. Fearlessness, or a passion so strong that it pushes away fear, is so important now a days. I never thought I would have gotten a NASA internship with me going to a small liberal arts college in Kentucky but I took a shot in the dark and applied and I actually got it! I strongly believe that pushing your self and always wanting something better and more for yourself is so important. I don't ever want to allow myself to be comfortable and get in a routine because I always want that desire to create, build, and be better so that I can be better for everyone around me and be able to inspire, motivate, help, and heal all those around me.

I am so grateful for my NASA internship and being the featured intern for national intern day and being able to speak on the live show. If you want to watch the show and see me stumble over my words and internally panic this is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7rQLs5f0lg

I can't wait to share more of my journey and go on many more adventures like my time at NASA and see where life will take me next!
